Job summary

American Water seeks an experienced supervisor to oversee daily water and/or wastewater operations across regions. You will ensure adherence to policies, procedures and regulations while guiding teams in operational efficiency.

The role emphasizes developing personnel, maintaining safety, and supporting business opportunities in both regulated and non-regulated markets. Local travel may occur.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years experience in operations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Water/wastewater certification is a plus.
• Field utility experience is highly preferred.
• Experience managing a team and union workforce preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day water and/or wastewater operations.
• Coordinate regional construction, operations, and maintenance within budget.
• Ensure policies, procedures, programs and performance are followed to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Train and develop personnel in operational integrity and safety.
• Obtain all required permits, licenses, rights of way for compliance.
• Support pricing and integration of opportunities in regulated and non-regulated markets.
