Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Foreperson to supervise daily crew operations, coordinate tasks, and enforce safety standards on active job sites. You will work closely with management to determine hiring needs, schedules, and training requirements while mentoring crew members.

Strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in the field are essential. A CDL and the ability to drive company vehicles, along with staying compliant with DOT and OSHA

Qualifications

• Must understand drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and multitasking capability.
• Ability to adapt to field requirements and act independently without close supervision.
• Able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Capable of working with hands above head for extended periods.
• Weight limit: approximately 300 pounds; no fear of heights.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining and instructs crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per policy and OSHA, and conducts safety training.
• Discusses access, power interruptions, work scope, and property damage with owners; refers complex cases upward.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform work.
• Maintains good customer relations through effective completion of work and professional conduct.
• May investigate incidents and settle minor damage claims.
• Keeps accurate records, timesheets, and reports on crew performance.
• Controls crew costs and uses resources efficiently.
• Reports orders completed, units, crew time, and repairs to supervision.
• Furnishes incident, breakdown, and follow-up reports as needed.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
• Sets up barriers and warning signs to protect employees and the public; determines actions in emergencies.
• Inspects and arranges repairs for tools, trucks, and equipment.
• Maintains good housekeeping on the truck and work site.
• Responsible for DOT maintenance and inspection on all required vehicles.
• Keeps informed on new equipment, standards, and company policies; requests repairs when necessary.
