Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. offers an immersive Field Operations & Grower Representative Intern experience in Oxnard, CA. You will work closely with processing management to coordinate field fruit deliveries and maintain grower relationships for timely freezer fruit processing.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a 4-year degree, fluent in Spanish, and available March through August. This onsite internship emphasizes hands-on learning, strong communication, and leadership in a Fortune 500 environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year degree program in Food Science, Logistics or Agri-Business.
• Ability to read, write and speak Spanish is required.
• Available late March through the end of August; weekends/overtime/night shifts possible.

Responsibilities

• Determine daily crate volume by obtaining on-site ranch estimates each morning and adjust in the afternoon.
• Record and relay probable next-day crate volume to processing and plant managers.
• Advise plant and QC managers if poor quality is observed at any grower’s ranch.
• Distribute crates and pallets to growers as needed to prevent stockpiling.
• Ensure crates and pallets are returned to the Oxnard plant yard at season’s end.
• Obtain pesticide reports from growers and deliver to the Plant Manager.
