Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company invites applications for a Field Operations & Grower Representative Intern in Oxnard, CA.

You will support the processing manager in coordinating field fruit deliveries and maintaining grower relationships to move harvested freezer fruit to the plant efficiently. This onsite internship requires Spanish fluency, enrollment in a relevant 4-year degree, and availability from late March through August.

Qualifications

• Be currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program, Food Science, Logistics or Agri-Business major highly desired.
• Ability to read, write and speak Spanish required.
• Available in late March through the end of August.
• Able to work weekends, overtime, and night shifts.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine daily crate volume by obtaining early morning on-site ranch estimates and adjust throughout the day.
• Obtain, record, and pass information to processing and plant managers on next-day crate volume.
• Advise plant and QC managers when poor quality is evident on a grower's ranch.
• Distribute crates/pallets to growers to prevent stockpiling and ensure timely delivery.
• At season end, return crates/pallets to Oxnard plant yard for storage and repair.
