Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company in Oxnard, CA is offering a Supply Chain Intern position. You’ll support shipping, receiving, quality control and safety initiatives while coordinating with drivers and storage facilities.

This onsite internship runs late March through August, requires enrollment in a 4-year degree and Spanish language ability; candidates must work weekends/overtime and nights. Compensation is $23–$25 per hour, plus housing assistance for eligible students.

Qualifications

• Be currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program.
• Ability to read, write and speak Spanish required.
• Available in late March through the end of August.
• Able to work weekends, overtime, and night shifts.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure drums and containers are clean and properly labeled before shipping.
• Conduct vehicle inspections for cleanliness and safety before loading/unloading.
• Verify shipments with documented security seals and accurate paperwork.
• Perform pallet inspections and reject loads not meeting specs.
• Match Bill of Ladings with shipment details and scanner results.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving with floor personnel, QC staff, and forklift drivers.
• Support inventory checks with management and office staff as needed.
• Promote a safe working environment and participate in safety meetings.
