Job summary

Tallgrass is seeking a field network technician to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair network and telecommunications systems at various sites. You will handle 4G/5G modems, LAN/WAN, industrial wireless, LEO satellites, and phone systems while ensuring optimal network performance and documenting issues.

You will travel to customer sites, troubleshoot Layer 1 and assist Layer 2 problems, and use Netcloud, SolarWinds, Cisco, and Ubiquiti tools to drive resolutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years IT infrastructure experience.
• Experience with Layer 1 Ethernet, coax, fiber optics, and RF systems.
• Experience with VLANs, MAC addresses, CDP, and STP.
• Experience with Cisco Enterprise equipment and Cradlepoints 4G/5G modems.
• Strong communication of technical issues to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair network equipment across field locations.
• Monitor and maintain Tallgrass' telecommunications network (4G/5G, radios, VSAT, DSL).
• Install and troubleshoot physical cabling (CAT5/6, fiber, coax) up to 48 VDC.
• Troubleshoot Layer 1 and assist Layer 2 issues (VLANs, switches, MAC conflicts).
• Use Netcloud, SolarWinds, Cisco, and Ubiquiti tools for diagnostics and resolution.
• Travel up to 75% and adapt to non-traditional hours.
