Job summary

Consulting Solutions is seeking a Field Technician to perform field maintenance, construction and support for telecom infrastructure. You will read installation instructions, coordinate with Engineering and Project Managers, and communicate with NOC and customers before installations that may cause outages.

You will document project status, work with architects and teammates to define metrics for the network solution, and contribute to successful project delivery on a 12-month contract.

Qualifications

• Basic networking background with IPv4 Physical Link, Data Link, and Routing.
• TBERT and ethernet testing knowledge or experience.
• Proficiency with specialized test equipment including OTDR, DS1/DS3 tests, DC load banks, SONET, Ethernet testing and RF meters.
• RF understanding including attenuation, antenna gain, waveguide and connectors.
• Experience with DC power systems including 24VDC, -48VDC, POE, and 130VDC.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand Project Installation Instructions and assess system impact.
• Coordinate with Engineering and/or Project Managers on project details.
• Communicate with NOC and Customers before installations that may cause outages.
• Document project status and issues with Engineering.
• Collaborate with project manager, architects, and team to define network metrics and goals.
