Job summary

U.S. Bank is hiring a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in an assigned non-bank territory. You will handle applications, perform initial underwriting reviews, and submit for processing and underwriting to secure timely closings. Expect significant fieldwork, with at least half of duties performed away from banking locations.

The role requires NMLS registration, a high school diploma, and 2+ years in Mortgage/Sales/Real Estate, plus strong communication and sales skills.

Qualifications

• NMLS registration under S.A.F.E. Act and Reg Z and ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two+ years of Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Originates mortgage loans in an assigned Non-Bank territory and takes applications.
• Conducts preliminary underwriting reviews and submits applications for processing and underwriting.
• Follows up to secure documents for processing, underwriting, and closing in a timely manner.
• Spends at least 50% of time conducting sales activities away from U.S. Bank locations.
