Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC Kenworth) is seeking a Mobile Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic to perform heavy-duty truck repairs offsite at customer locations, in Tupelo, MS. You will build relationships with customers, identify service needs, and drive labor sales while maintaining high quality repairs.

The role requires strong diagnostic and repair skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work with limited supervision in a dynamic field setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ heavy duty truck repair experience.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required; Engine/Component certifications a plus.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working with little supervision.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction and quality repairs.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive can-do attitude.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
• Class A or B CDL and/or DOT medical card may be required depending on vehicle size.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with general supervision.
• Coordinates repair orders with Service Manager and Shop Foremen for task assignment.
• Advises customers on needed service work and suggests additional labor, parts, and related services.
• Follows safe work practices and maintains safety of equipment and personnel.
• Maintains favorable relations with customers and documents work in the service system.
• Oversees territory accounts, calls on key accounts, and promotes preventive maintenance and new products.
• Responsible for achieving labor sales objectives for assigned accounts.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
