Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC, North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group, seeks a Mobile Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty repairs and preventative maintenance offsite at customer locations.

You will develop relationships with customers, drive labor sales, coordinate repair orders, and promote service offerings while ensuring safety and high workmanship standards across your territory.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years heavy-duty truck repair experience.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required. Engine and Component certifications are a plus.
• Must be self-motivated and capable of working with little supervision.
• Must have a commitment to customer satisfaction and perform quality repairs.
• Must have excellent communication skills. Must have a positive can-do attitude.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
• Class A or B CDL and/or DOT medical card may be required depending upon the size of the mobile service vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with general supervision.
• Coordinates customer repair orders with Service Manager and Shop Foremen for task assignment.
• Advises customer of needed service work and suggests additional labor and parts when possible.
• Follows safety practices and maintains company vehicles assigned to the technician.
• Creates and closes repair orders in the MHC system and documents work performed.
• Oversees operations of assigned customers in territory and calls on key accounts regularly.
• Responsible for achieving labor sales objectives for assigned accounts.
