Job summary

Washington Gas seeks a Supervisor, Meter Services to lead field-based meter reading operations, AMR/ERT maintenance, audits, and leak surveys. You will supervise union staff and contractors, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with 24/7 on-call readiness for emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 5+ years in natural gas/utility ops or customer service.
• 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience.
• Proven ability to lead people, manage projects, and prioritize tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
• Effective communication with employees, customers, contractors, and partners.
• Proficiency with data analysis, reporting, and operational systems.
• Ability to analyze challenges, evaluate solutions and make sound decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily meter services operations including meter reading, AMR/ERT maintenance, audits, leak surveys, and customer appointment activities.
• Supervise field staff and contractors to ensure safety, compliance and efficiency.
• Assign and review meter reading orders, investigations and account routing activities.
• Investigate and resolve account, billing and customer service issues using SAP and related systems.
• Prepare reports and documentation for audits and compliance activities.
• Coach and lead field teams, promoting safe work practices and day-to-day operations.
