Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, Field Engineering to provide full life-cycle support for AWS Data Centers—from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Valid and active driver's license.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
• Experience using calculation and data processing software.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Support operational issues with ad-hoc training and SOP reviews, including critical equipment.
• Own conceptual design for data center upgrades to add capacity and improve availability.
• Interface with data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, EH&S teams to promote standards.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers and lead audits including on-site visits.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction, supporting construction, commissioning and turnover.
