Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician - Level I to assist on field projects, perform sample preparation, testing and site observations, and document results according to project specs.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of experience, an ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I, and a valid Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification; night and weekend shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I Certification preferred/required.
• Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Training Certification required.
• Minimum 6 months of field testing experience preferred.
• Ability to document field observations and test results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions.
• Review specifications for civil and structural plans and identify applicable sections.
• Perform tests, inspections and observations with supervision.
• Submit daily field reports documenting testing and field activities.
• Document non-conforming items to project supervision.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
• Operate and care for a nuclear density gauge per safety policy.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Proctor testing in the field.
