Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician - Level I to provide field testing observations on assigned projects, including soil, concrete, grout, mortar and asphalt, and to document test results.

The role requires a minimum of 6 months experience, current ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I certification, and the ability to work night shifts and some weekends; travel within 100 miles from the branch is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience in construction materials testing.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I Certification is required.
• Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Training Certification is required.
• Ability to understand and follow specifications and field procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions.
• Review civil/structural plans and identify applicable work sections.
• Perform tests and field observations with supervision.
• Submit daily field reports documenting testing and observations.
• Document non-conforming items to project supervision.
• Clean, maintain and calibrate all assigned equipment.
• Transport and operate a nuclear density gauge per safety guidelines.
• Understand Proctor Compaction Test and USCS Soil Classification.
• Demonstrate competency in One-Point Proctor testing in the field.
