Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician - Level I to perform on-site tests and observations on soil, concrete, grout, mortar, and asphalt per project specs. You will prepare samples, collect data, and document results for review by engineers and project teams.

You must hold the ACI Level I certification and be able to work night shifts and weekends as needed, with reliable transportation to the branch office. A competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 6+ months field testing experience preferred.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I certification required.
• Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Training certification required.
• Ability to operate, calibrate and maintain testing equipment; follow safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions.
• Review project specifications for applicable testing scope.
• Perform tests, inspections and observations according to project requirements with supervision.
• Submit daily field reports documenting testing, inspections and observations.
• Document and communicate non-conforming items to project supervision.
• Calibrate and maintain testing equipment; operate nuclear density gauge safely.
• Understand Proctor tests and USCS soil classification; perform One-Point Proctor testing as trained.
