Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Level II Technician to support field testing on civil projects. The role requires handling soil, concrete, grout, mortar and asphalt testing with on-site documentation and reporting.

You will work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, requiring reliable transportation and the ability to adapt to changing project needs. Certifications and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I Certification.
• Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Training Certification.
• ICC Soils Special Inspector Certification.

Responsibilities

• Receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions.
• Review specifications and identify sections applicable to the scope of work.
• Perform tests, inspections and observations with minimal supervision.
• Submit daily field reports documenting testing, inspections and observations.
• Document and communicate non-conforming items to project supervision.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Operate a nuclear density gauge per safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate competency in One-Point Proctor testing.
• Read detailed plans and specs.
• Sample and test mortar and grout; monitor asphalt placement.
