Job summary

Building & Earth Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician - Level I to support field projects with testing observation, sample prep, and documentation for soil, concrete, grout, mortar and asphalt.

Night and weekend hours may be required; reliable transportation is essential. The role requires at least 6 months of experience and an ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I certification, plus a Nuclear Gauge Safety Training certification.

Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of sample preparation, collection, testing and documentation.
• Ability to review civil/structural specs and apply to field work.
• Experience with field testing observations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Receive, understand and execute directions.
• Review specs and identify applicable sections for scope.
• Perform tests and field observations with supervision.
• Submit daily field reports documenting testing and observations.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Operate nuclear density gauge following safety program policies.
• Understand Proctor tests and USCS soil classification.
• Demonstrate competency in One-Point Proctor testing in the field.
