Job summary

S&ME is seeking an Entry-Level Construction Materials Engineering Technician in Greensboro, NC. You will test construction materials like soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate, both in the field and lab, to ensure standards of quality and safety are met.

You will receive training via on-the-job experiences and certifications through the ACI and ICC, working outdoors with various crews. A strong interest in testing, inspection, and a reliability to travel locally is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Eagerness to gain experience in construction testing/inspections.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong English communication (speaking, reading, writing).
• Basic math concepts related to weight, volume, and units.

Responsibilities

• Start with concrete testing and sampling, then test soils, asphalt, and masonry.
• Receive on-the-job training and certification support through ACI and ICC.
• Work outdoors year-round with different crews on various sites.
• Conduct and document tests with precision and maintain calibration of equipment.
• Inspect materials per IBC and organize data using Metafield.
