S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician in Greensboro, NC. The role involves testing and sampling concrete and other materials, with on‑the‑job training and certification support through ACI and ICC.

You will work outdoors year‑round on diverse sites, documenting results and collaborating with colleagues to ensure accuracy. The position emphasizes inspections per IBC and potential Special Inspection responsibilities, with strong emphasis on safety and professional

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Eagerness to gain experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
• Strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Valid US driver's license or International Driving Permit (IDP) with clean record.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen per offer.

Responsibilities

• Test and sample concrete and other materials (soil, asphalt, masonry).
• Attend on‑the‑job training and certification support.
• Work outdoors year‑round across various sites with different crews.
• Conduct tests and document results with accuracy for review.
• Perform inspections of construction materials per IBC and serve as Special Inspection agent.
