Job summary

UES, Inc. seeks a CMT Field Technician to support Dallas-area projects. You will perform field inspections, materials testing, and sampling to ensure quality and safety on job sites. Training and career growth opportunities are emphasized in a dynamic geotechnical environment.

The role requires outdoors work, travel to multiple sites, and adherence to ASTM/AASHTO standards. A valid driver’s license and 3 years of field testing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of field experience in construction materials testing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil compaction, concrete slump, air content, temperature, and cylinder sampling.
• Conduct density testing using nuclear gauges or sand cone methods.
• Observe and document field activities per project specs and standards (ASTM/AASHTO).
• Collect samples for laboratory testing and deliver with proper chain-of-custody.
• Prepare clear daily field reports and submit documentation promptly.
• Communicate findings with project managers, engineers, and contractors.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used properly.
• Comply with safety regulations on-site and in the lab.
• Vehicle maintenance and adherence to safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
