Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or relevant training preferred.
• 3 years of field experience in construction materials testing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors; travel between sites.
• Ability to read documents and perform civil calculations.
• Accurate field-testing paperwork and data entry.
• Knowledge of ASTM standards and soil classifications.
• Ability to solve problems and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil compaction, concrete slump, air content, temperature, and cylinder sampling.
• Conduct density testing using nuclear gauges or sand cone.
• Observe and document field activities per specs and standards.
• Collect samples for laboratory testing and maintain chain of custody.
• Prepare daily field reports and submit documentation timely.
• Communicate findings with project managers, engineers, and contractors.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained to QC standards.
• Adhere to safety regulations on site and in the lab.
• Vehicle maintenance and safety compliance; travel between sites.
• Other duties as assigned.
