Join S&ME in Knoxville as a Construction Materials Engineering Technician. This outdoor, hands-on role tests concrete, soils, and asphalt on active construction sites, with mentorship and growth opportunities across a 50-year history of geotechnical, civil, environmental, and construction materials testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred for advanced levels.
• Technician I: 0–2 years relevant experience
• Technician II: 2+ years relevant experience or with associate degree
• Technician III: 3+ years relevant experience or with associate degree
• Technician IV: 5+ years relevant experience; leadership or mentoring is a plus
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I and ICC Special Inspector preferred

Responsibilities

• Field & Lab Testing: Testing concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample Collection & Prep: Collecting and preparing samples for analysis.
• Data Interpretation & Reporting: Interpreting test results and preparing reports.
• Team Collaboration & Compliance: Work with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines
