Job summary

Beam Therapeutics Inc. seeks a Director, Field Market Access to lead payer engagement and reimbursement strategies across a defined US region.

You will negotiate pricing, educate providers on coding and billing for gene therapies, and drive access for Beam’s portfolio, including the risto-cel program, through close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will build relationships with payers, treatment centers, and professional societies, influence coverage policies, and lead education

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in pharma/biotech with 5+ years in market access, including field roles.
• Hospital and payer experience establishing coverage for complex therapies.
• Demonstrated success building relationships with payers and financial decision-makers.
• Must have established payer relationships (Commercial required; Medicaid preferred).
• Buy & bill experience required; gene therapy exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate directly with Commercial and Government Payers for pricing and coverage.
• Execute Market Access Strategies with Payers and Treatment Centers, communicating economic value propositions.
• Educate providers on payer trends, billing/coding for gene therapy, and patient reimbursement journeys.
• Monitor payer trends in rare disease and gene therapy to support affordability and access.
• Provide training on reimbursement best practices to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional field pod (MEO, GTO, KAM, MSLs, Patient Operations).
• Develop regional relationships with societies, medical associations, advocacy groups, thought leaders.
