Job summary

EWI Recruitment is seeking a Bore / Hydrovac Superintendent to lead field operations across civil, infrastructure and utility projects in Texas. You will supervise crews, coordinate plant and subcontractors, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to quality standards.

You will bring strong knowledge of horizontal directional drilling, vacuum excavation and underground service works, with a proven ability to manage changing priorities, communicate with project managers and clients,

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in a supervisory or superintendent role in civil construction or utilities.
• Experience with trenchless technology or hydrovac operations.
• Ability to manage field teams, contractors, and resources.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bore and hydrovac activities and allocate resources.
• Interpret plans, permits and work instructions before tasks.
• Coordinate drilling, potholing, trenching, spoil management and reinstatement.
• Monitor production, costs, programme requirements and site performance; report issues.
• Lead pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and site briefings; promote safety.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Inspect plant and equipment; arrange maintenance; identify hazards.
• Liaise with clients, utility owners, traffic controllers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Complete daily records, timesheets, permits, inspection documentation and incident reports.
