Job summary

Trotec Laser in Somerset, NJ is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, repair, and maintain cutting-edge laser systems nationwide. You will travel to customer sites, perform onsite work, and provide hands-on training and technical support.

Join a fast-paced, customer-focused team with comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training; must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and travel frequently; a clean driving record required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical school certification or equivalent.
• Experience with electronics, digital circuits, wiring, mechanics, and computer software preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performing onsite installations, repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, software, and system issues.
• Providing customer training on operation, applications, and preventative maintenance.
• Delivering technical support via phone, email, and other electronic communication.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Working closely with Sales, Applications, Customer Service, and other internal teams.
• Creating organized and detailed service reports.
• Assisting in the development and improvement of technical documentation.
• Installing and configuring hardware and software upgrades.
• Maintaining a high level of professionalism during complex or high-pressure situations.
