Job summary

Trodat Trotec Group is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Somerset, NJ, traveling across the United States to install, repair, and service laser systems. The role offers full-time compensation with a quarterly bonus and mileage reimbursement for a personal vehicle used for work.

Expect on-site installations, troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and software components, and training customers in operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical school certification or equivalent.
• Experience with electronics, digital circuits, wiring, mechanics, and computer software preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performing onsite installations, repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, software, and system issues.
• Providing customer training on operation, applications, and preventative maintenance.
• Delivering technical support via phone, email, and other electronic communication.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Working closely with Sales, Applications, Customer Service, and other internal teams.
• Creating organized and detailed service reports.
• Assisting in the development and improvement of technical documentation.
• Installing and configuring hardware and software upgrades.
• Maintaining a high level of professionalism during complex or high-pressure situations.
