Job summary

IPG Photonics is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide tailored solutions for customers using state-of-the-art laser processing technology. You will train and support customers, subsidiaries, and partners while working with engineering on upgrades and field issues.

The ideal candidate is an experienced technician with strong communication and organizational skills, willing to travel 10–15% to customer sites and participate in multi-site support activities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a technical degree is preferred; exceptional candidates with experience may be considered.
• Experience with industrial cutting, welding, and marking applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10-15% to customer sites.
• Germany training 3 weeks; U.S. passport required.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and on-site support for IPG customers and partners.
• Troubleshoot laser systems and optimize performance.
• Coordinate with engineering on upgrades and field issues.
• Prepare field service reports and expense reports weekly.
• Train customers and IPG staff; support installations.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and process orders.
• Work with Navision ERP and CRM systems.
