Job summary

Terracon is seeking a field/lab technician to perform material testing (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel) at project sites in Tempe, AZ. You will collect samples, document results, and assist with report preparation for project managers.

Under supervision, you will gain experience in testing procedures, safety compliance, and data submission. A valid driver’s license and OSHA-based safety training are expected, with certifications pursued after starting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of field or laboratory testing experience required.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history may be required.
• ACI certification within 90 days of hire is required.
• Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Communicate findings and results to the Project Manager and field team.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with documentation.
• Prepare data and observations in reports for daily submittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
