Job summary

Terracon is seeking a seasoned field/laboratory materials tester to perform testing and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel at project sites. You will communicate results to project teams and clients while maintaining equipment and safety standards.

The role requires 5–10 years of relevant experience, proficiency with Word/Excel, and the ability to train and supervise technicians. Valid driver’s license and safe work practices are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5-10 years of relevant field/testing experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Word/Excel.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection per training and procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic data analysis to verify accuracy before submission to PM.
• Communicates information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
• Trains lower level technicians and may supervise others.
• May direct and supervise activities of technicians in lab or on projects.
• Interacts with client/site personnel when directed by the PM.
• Assists PM in developing scope for testing and inspection services.
• Maintains equipment operation and calibration.
• Plans, schedules and dispatches Technicians to sites based on skills and priorities.
• Tracks projects in CMELMS and reports status to management.
• Adheres to safety rules and reports issues to management.
• Maintains quality standards on all projects.
