Job summary

Terracon is seeking a field technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials at project sites. You will document results and coordinate with the Project Manager, while maintaining equipment and following safety protocols.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of experience, basic computer skills, and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time on-site position with potential travel to sites across Virginia.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience or training.
• Experience using laptop computers and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable history.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed per procedures.
• Documents findings clearly for PM and project team.
• Performs basic data analysis to verify accuracy before submission.
• Communicates results to PM and other personnel.
• Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
• Maintains and calibrates assigned equipment.
• Drives a vehicle to project sites.
• Adheres to safety rules and pre-task planning.
• Maintains quality standards on all projects.
