Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Field Testing Technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials on active projects. You will communicate findings to project managers, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of relevant experience, and certifications such as WAQTC and ACI. Proficiency with MS Word/Excel and a valid driver’s license are essential, with responsibilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
• WAQTC certification required.
• ACI certification in Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I or equivalent.
• Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
• Completion of related internal safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed per training and procedures.
• Arrives at project sites on time.
• Documents findings clearly and accurately.
• Performs basic data analysis before submitting to the Project Manager.
• Communicates with dispatcher, project manager, and contractor regularly.
• Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
• Maintains equipment and calibration; drives vehicle as needed.
• Follows safety rules and completes pre-task planning.
• Maintains quality standards on all projects.
