Job summary

Terracon is seeking a field/lab technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, and steel at project sites around Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities include data collection, reporting, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety standards. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 6 months of experience, and a valid driver’s license; ACI certification must be pursued within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months of field experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history may be required.
• ACI certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Safety certifications related to construction materials testing are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Communicate results and findings to Project Manager and team.
• Transport samples with proper documentation to the lab.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in written and digital reports.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to sites.
