Job summary

Terracon in Virginia Beach is seeking a field technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. You will communicate results to the project team, prepare reports, maintain equipment, and support scheduling and safety compliance on site.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of related experience, basic computer skills (Word, Excel), and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience or training.
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before submittal to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
• Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
• Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
• Drives a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
• Follows safety rules and practices and reports safety issues to management.
• Maintains quality standards on all projects.
