Job summary

Optimize Search Group is looking for a Field IT Technician in San Augustine, TX, to support field operations. This is a part-time role, ideal for IT professionals seeking a mixture of office-based support and field troubleshooting at active rig sites.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot and support hardware as well as provide IT support in remote and active environments. Additional growth into a full-time position is possible as operational needs expand.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of IT support experience in a Help Desk, Desktop Support, or Field Technician role.
• Prior experience supporting Oil & Gas or Upstream operations strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with rig site environments and safety requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and repair laptops, printers, and other office hardware.
• Travel to active rig sites to diagnose and resolve satellite, cellular, networking, and mobile device issues.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security cameras and field monitoring systems.
• Serve as the local point of contact for IT issues requiring physical presence.

Skills

Proficiency with Windows 10 and Windows 11

Basic networking knowledge

Experience with hardware installation, configuration, and repair
