Field IT Support Specialist for Multi-Plant Manufacturing

Job summary

WLS Stamping is seeking a hands-on IT Support Specialist to keep our systems, network, and end users running smoothly across multiple plant locations in Ohio.

You will serve as the front line for help desk requests, perform on-site hardware setup, and troubleshoot network and system issues, traveling regularly between Highland Heights and other plants to minimize downtime. ERP/MRP experience and collaboration with engineering/maintenance teams are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of IT support or similar role.
• Experience with Windows desktop environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience troubleshooting network fundamentals (switches, routers, Wi‑Fi, VPN, TCP/IP).
• Comfortable performing physical setup work: running cable, mounting equipment, deploying hardware.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly between plant locations.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary IT support contact across plant locations; troubleshoot hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues.
• Respond to help desk tickets promptly prioritizing production impact.
• Provide basic end-user training on standard software tools.
• Set up and deploy desktops, laptops, tablets, scanners, and peripherals for new hires and refreshes.
• Install printers, monitors, docking stations, and other peripherals; manage network cabling and wireless APs.
• Monitor network and system performance; escalate outages affecting production or operations.
• Administer user accounts and access (AD / Microsoft 365).
• Support ERP/MRP systems used across plants.
• Coordinate connectivity for shop-floor systems with engineering/maintenance teams.
• Apply security patches and follow IT security policies across sites.
