Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Field IT Support Technician to serve as the on-site IT contact for field staff and project sites. You will manage tickets, resolve incidents, and support devices via Azure Intune, Microsoft 365, and VPNs.

The role requires installing and troubleshooting network gear, printers, and on-site cabling in a rugged construction environment. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in IT or computer engineering with strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Familiarity with Windows environments, networking protocols, and IT infrastructure.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve IT issues swiftly.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and switching.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune device management.
• Adherence to documented IT-related policies and procedures.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Cisco Meraki, and/or Ubiquiti networking equipment is a plus.
• Previous IT helpdesk experience is a plus.
• Effective communication, time management, and independent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Field IT Support Engineer as an IT point of contact for field staff.
• Manage tickets and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
• Support user devices via Azure Intune
• Resolve issues involving Windows devices, software, and Microsoft 365 apps.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity at job sites.
• Deploy and support routers, switches, access points, firewalls, and mobile network hardware.
• Handle cabling, field installations, and on-site evaluations of network layout and performance.
• Configure and support network printers at construction trailers, including connectivity and driver installation.
