Job summary

Optara is seeking an experienced Field Support Engineer to deliver hands-on IT support, systems administration, and cybersecurity services for our clients. The role spans servers, networks, virtualization, cloud services, and end-user devices in a fast-paced MSP/MSSP environment.

You will work directly with clients to solve complex technical challenges, support a wide range of technologies, and contribute to project implementations, migrations, and upgrades across client environments.

Qualifications

Experience in MSP/MSSP environments preferred.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, AD, Microsoft 365, and virtualization platforms.
Familiarity with firewalls, switches, wireless tech, and backup/disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and support IT infrastructure and networks.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and security issues.
Support Windows Server environments, VMware/Hyper-V, and cloud technologies.
Deploy and maintain firewalls, switches, wireless networks, backups, and cybersecurity tools.
Provide onsite and remote technical support for clients.
Document systems, procedures, and changes in company platforms.
Assist with projects, migrations, upgrades, and deployments.
Maintain asset inventories and licensing records.
Collaborate with teams to resolve requests and deliver projects.
Identify opportunities for improvements and communicate findings.
