Job summary

Westat, Inc. is recruiting Field Interviewers to conduct in-person interviews for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). The role involves contacting households, arranging and conducting interviews, and collecting signed documents using a Westat laptop.

Travel to trainings in January 2027, occasional local and overnight trips, and data submission with confidentiality are required. The position runs two annual data collection periods as a part-time, non-exempt role.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older (or an emancipated minor) with the ability to enter binding confidentiality agreements to protect project information.
• Be available to complete mandatory web-based home study training and required Teams sessions.
• Be available to travel to in-person training and complete a multi-day training.
• Be available to complete additional mandatory web-based and virtual training activities.

Responsibilities

• Contact households in-person or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete the interview, and collect signed documents (electronic or hard copy).
• Transmit electronic data daily on workdays.
• Report to a field supervisor and complete administrative paperwork.
