Job summary

Westat is seeking Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). You will conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults, arranging visits and collecting data using a Westat laptop.

Travel to mandatory January 2027 training and possible local/overnight travel are required. The position is part-time, running two data collection periods with breaks between rounds, and data must be transmitted daily. Training and compliance with security rules are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to enter binding confidentiality agreements to protect project information.
• Must complete mandatory web-based home study training and required Teams sessions between January 4 and January 15, 2027.
• Must travel to and attend mandatory in-person training in January 2027 and complete post-training activities.
• Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week when work is available, mostly evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults in households.
• Contact households in-person and by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation, set appointments and collect data.
• Transmit electronic data daily and complete administrative paperwork as required by the field supervisor.
• Complete required training and adhere to data security and confidentiality requirements.
