Job summary

Red River in the United States is seeking a Field Installation Engineer to plan, install, configure, calibrate, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize network infrastructure across customer and internal environments.

You will lead on-site deployments, perform site surveys, interpret diagrams, and coordinate with project teams to ensure high-quality implementations that meet standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certification, military training, or equivalent in Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience installing, deploying, troubleshooting, or supporting network and infrastructure technologies with knowledge of routing, switching, wireless networking, IP addressing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret network diagrams, floor plans, technical specifications, and implementation documentation; analyze problems; identify root causes; and propose solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic project environments with sound technical judgment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently to customer locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, calibrate, upgrade, and validate network and infrastructure equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, servers).
• Analyze requirements, interpret diagrams, and develop installation plans and procedures.
• Conduct site surveys, evaluate readiness, and plan tools, equipment, and personnel for installation activities.
• Assess conditions, identify risks, and determine installation approaches per project requirements and standards.
• Troubleshoot network, wireless, and infrastructure issues; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct wireless site surveys and RF environment evaluations to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Perform testing, prototyping, and post-installation checks to validate methods and readiness for turnover.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and customers to review scope, plans, schedules, and risks; support international installations as needed.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, installation docs, logs, and as-built records; document configurations and variances.
• Provide customers with technical guidance, updates, and training on equipment operation and troubleshooting; uphold Red River standards.
