Job summary

Red River is seeking a Field Installation Engineer in Hartford, CT to plan, install, configure, calibrate, validate, and optimize network and infrastructure solutions across customer and internal environments.

You will conduct site surveys, assess risks, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure successful implementation. Travel to customer locations is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certification, military training, or equivalent experience in IT/Networking or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience installing, deploying, troubleshooting, or supporting network/infrastructure technologies with routing, switching, wireless networking, IP addressing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret network diagrams, floor plans, technical specs, and implementation docs; analyze problems and propose fixes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic project environments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, calibrate, upgrade, and validate network and infrastructure equipment.
• Analyze installation requirements and develop installation plans from diagrams and docs.
• Conduct site surveys, evaluate readiness, and determine needed tools, equipment, and personnel.
• Assess site conditions and determine installation approaches based on project requirements.
• Troubleshoot network, wireless, connectivity, and infrastructure issues and implement fixes.
• Conduct wireless site surveys and RF environment assessments to ensure compliance with specs.
• Test equipment and validate functionality before project turnover.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to review scope, designs, and schedules.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, logs, and as-built records.
