Job summary

Red River in Santa Fe, NM seeks a Field Installation Engineer to plan, install, configure, calibrate, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize complex network and infrastructure solutions. You will blend hands-on engineering with analysis to ensure successful deployments aligned with project requirements and quality standards.

The role includes site surveys, equipment testing, RF assessment, and collaboration with project managers and customers, with travel to client locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certification, military training, or equivalent experience in IT, Networking, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience installing, deploying, troubleshooting, or supporting network and infrastructure technologies with knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, IP addressing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret network diagrams, floor plans, technical specs, and implementation docs; analyze problems; identify root causes; and recommend effective solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound technical judgement, manage multiple priorities, and work in dynamic project environments.
• Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently to customer locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, calibrate, upgrade, and validate network and infrastructure equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, servers).
• Analyze installation requirements, interpret diagrams and docs, and develop installation plans.
• Conduct site surveys, evaluate readiness, plan tools and personnel for installation.
• Assess site conditions and determine installation approaches per project requirements.
• Troubleshoot network, wireless, and infrastructure issues; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct wireless site surveys and RF environment assessments to ensure compliance with specs.
• Perform equipment testing and post-installation inspections to validate readiness before turnover.
• Collaborate with project managers and customers to review scope, plans, and risks; support execution including international installations.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, work orders, and installation documentation.
• Provide customers with technical guidance and training on operation and troubleshooting while upholding Red River standards.
• Ensure activities comply with site requirements, safety, security, regulatory, and quality standards.
