Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to assist senior inspectors in oversight of roadway and bridge construction projects.

You will review plans, specs and shop drawings, monitor activities for quality, and conduct field audits with ICQA processes. The role requires either a civil engineering degree with 2+ years of inspection experience, or an associate degree with 5 years’ experience, or a high school diploma with 7 years’ related work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field with 2+ years roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Alternate: Associate degree with 5 years roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• High school diploma with 7 years inspection experience or equivalent.
• Must obtain GDOT certifications within ~6 months.
• Proficiency reading/interpreting construction documents, and highway math.
• Valid US driver's license and clean MVR.
• Experience with computers and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior inspectors in construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Monitor activities for quality conforming to standards.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes and constructions.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage per project requirements.
• Observe materials sampling/testing ( soils, asphalt, concrete ).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold safety practices on all construction activities.
