Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Construction Inspector to support oversight of roadway and bridge projects, reviewing plans and monitoring quality at field sites. You will conduct audits, inspect structures, and support materials testing while ensuring safety procedures are followed.

The role requires a civil engineering degree or equivalent, multiple qualification paths, and relevant certifications to be completed within 6 months. Competitive salary with benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology with 2 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience or
• Associate degree with 5 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience or
• High school diploma with 7 years of roadway/bridge inspection experience or equivalent
• Must obtain required certifications and pass tests (GDOT tests, WECS, Field Concrete Technician, GSWCC Level 1a) within ~6 months

Responsibilities

• Assist senior inspectors in construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes.
• Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage to project requirements.
• Observe and support materials sampling and testing (soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete).
• Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
• Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports.
• Uphold and promote safety practices in all construction activities.
