Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a field inspector to support transportation construction projects across multiple locations. You will inspect traffic control, environmental controls, layouts and materials under direct supervision, and help ensure compliance with contract provisions and QC plans.

You will review daily contractor reports, verify QC procedures, and assist with material testing and measurements, including sampling when required, with potential 20%–40% travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
• Review the contractor’s daily reports and accept/reject work per QC plan.
• Review material testing procedures and measure quantities; may sample and test on site.

Education

NICET/ACI certifications (earthwork, asphalt, concrete)
