Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Field Inspector to support transportation construction projects on-site at multiple locations nationwide. You will perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout and materials, under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.

The role requires reading construction plans, basic math, and proficiency with MS Office; a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and 2 years' related experience. Travel 20–40% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt and concrete if required by client/jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
• Determine acceptability of day-to-day work; review daily reports and QC procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results; measure quantities and may perform sampling/testing.
