Job summary

Artheon is seeking a Mid-Level Field Inspector to support municipal infrastructure and capital construction projects in New York City. The role focuses on monitoring field activities, verifying contract compliance, documenting field conditions, and coordinating with contractors and agency representatives to ensure safe, on-schedule project delivery.

The ideal candidate has hands-on field inspection experience on NYCDEP/NYCDDC projects, with a background in civil engineering or construction

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, engineering technology, or related field.
• 3–7 years of construction inspection, field engineering, or construction management experience.
• Experience on NYCDEP and/or NYCDDC projects preferred.
• Knowledge of drawings, specs, materials, and field inspection procedures.
• Ability to prepare daily reports and track deficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections to verify compliance with plans and specs.
• Monitor NYCDEP/NYCDDC projects including water/sewer infrastructure and utilities.
• Observe methods, materials, workmanship, and identify deficiencies.
• Maintain accurate daily inspection reports with progress and issues.
• Review drawings and submittals to support inspection activities.
• Identify nonconforming work and report field discrepancies.
• Coordinate with contractors and agency representatives to address issues.
• Ensure safety requirements and site procedures are followed.
• Verify quantities installed and support progress tracking.
• Participate in field meetings and site walkthroughs.
• Track deficiencies and corrective actions for timely resolution.
• Maintain organized inspection records and photographs.
