Job summary

Artheon is seeking a Mid-Level Field Inspector to support municipal infrastructure and capital construction projects across New York City. The role focuses on field inspections, ensuring compliance with contract documents, and coordinating with contractors, engineers, and NYC agencies.

Qualified candidates have 3–7 years of field inspection experience, a Civil/Construction Engineering related degree, and familiarity with NYCDEP/NYCDDC projects.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
• 3–7 years of construction inspection or field engineering experience.
• Experience with NYCDEP and/or NYCDDC projects preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, materials, and field inspection procedures.
• Experience preparing daily field reports and tracking deficiencies.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintaining digital project records.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with plans, specs, contract documents, and NYC agency requirements.
• Monitor work on NYCDEP/NYCDDC projects, including water and sewer infrastructure and other municipal improvements.
• Observe construction methods and materials to identify deficiencies and deviations from project requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily inspection reports with contractor activities, labor, equipment, and site conditions.
• Coordinate with contractors, resident engineers, and agency representatives to address field issues.
• Verify quantities of installed materials and completed work; assist with progress tracking.
• Participate in field meetings and site walkthroughs; track deficiencies to resolution.
• Ensure safety requirements and site procedures are followed; report hazards.
