Job summary

Smartsearchonline seeks a Construction Inspector to oversee field inspections on highway/sewer/water projects in New York. You will verify materials, ensure adherence to plans, and coordinate with contractors and engineers to maintain safety and quality on site.

Requires ASCE NICET certification, a related degree, and 3+ years of infrastructure inspection experience. Proficiency in Site Manager, AutoCAD, and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with contract requirements, site conditions and standards.
• Certification: ASCE Grade II or NICET Grade III is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• At least 3 years of construction inspection/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings and respond to inquiries about inspections.
• Prepare reports on project status and findings.
• Check grades, backfill components to meet specs.
• Report safety issues and propose resolutions to Resident Engineers.
• Review specifications and SCOPs and ensure compliance.
• Inspect materials prior to installation and verify certifications.
• Ensure workmanship conforms to plans and specs.
• Conduct material sampling and testing.
• Direct contractors to rectify non-compliance on safety and traffic.
• Maintain daily records on Site Manager and forms.
