Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction/Operations/Maintenance Inspector to monitor activities at MSFC projects in Huntsville, AL. You will verify conformance to contract drawings, specs, and NASA standards and prepare daily reports.

The role emphasizes field oversight, document control, and coordination with contractors, with no supervisory duties and a focus on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Construction Management degree a plus.
• 3+ years inspection experience on construction projects preferred.
• HVAC/Electrical journeyman experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection and surveillance of construction, operations, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure the work is in accordance with the contract drawings, specifications and NASA standards at MSFC.
• Review construction submittals for accuracy and monitor them via specialized construction software such as Procore.
• Review and evaluate the accuracy of the construction or maintenance contractor’s requests for progress payments.
• Provide daily inspection reports summarizing progress and adequacy of work observed, including verification of the project schedule; includes but not limited to indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities that are on or behind schedule.
• Regularly generate Inspectors Site Inspection Reports and update them as necessary for keeping them current.
• Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes of meetings and conferences, payments, updated progress schedules, monthly progress reports, punch lists, field changes, and similar documents.
• Monitor requests for Information (RFI), and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications, and other locally generated documents developed during the construction period, to ensure continuity of construction, maintenance, and/or repair efforts.
• Participate in construction pre-final and final inspections, assist in preparations of detailed punch-lists and check that all punch list items are corrected prior to recommending final payment to the construction contractor.
• Review and evaluate as-built drawings to ensure accuracy; note discrepancies found and return for correction.
• Assist in review of O&M Manuals received during the construction, maintenance, and/or repair efforts and provide comments as needed to address inaccurate or incomplete information.
